SaintsSaint Suitbert (Suidbert or Swithbert) was an English monk, educated near the borders of Scotland, and lived for a time under the guidance of the holy priest and monk, Saint Egbert, whom he accompanied to Ireland before leaving to evangelise the countries along the Rhine. He is particularly honoured in Saxony, where his virtues and miracles attracted a great deal of support from the people and aroused many converts.
INVOCATION:
My God, do not stray from us, may the merits and virtues of your servant, Saint Swithbert, attract your favorable eyes to me, may by his intercession I find myself delivered from the evil from which I suffer, so that I may learn by this new benefit to be hoped for in you and to praise you more and more. By Our Lord Jesus Christ. So be it.
Saint Swithbert, who heals so many sick people with overwork every day, pray for us.
PRAYER:
O my Jesus! a single glance cast on you, attached to the cross, dries all the tears, and makes me forget all that I have to suffer here below. So be it.
