Remember,
O sacred Heart of Jesus,
of everything you have done to save our souls,
and do not let them perish.
Remember the eternal
and the immense love you had for them;
don't push these souls away
who come to you failing
under the weight of their miseries,
oppressed under that of so much pain.

Be touched by our weakness,
of the dangers that surround us on all sides,
ailments that make us sigh and moan,
Filled with trust and love,
we come to your Heart, O Jesus,
as in the heart of the best of fathers,
the most loving and compassionate of friends.
Receive us, O sacred Heart,
in your infinite tenderness,
let us feel the effects
your compassion and your love;
show you our support,
our mediator with your Father.
In the name of your blood and your merits,
give us strength in our weaknesses,
consolation in our sorrows,
the grace of loving you in time
and that of possessing you in eternity.

So be it.

Jesus

Jesus Christ is a central figure in Christianity. He is regarded as the incarnation of God.

The historical existence of Jesus is attested by archaeological research and by the accounts of Roman historians (Flavius Josephus, Tacitus, Suetonius).

At about the age of thirty, Jesus left Nazareth and began an itinerant public life. He calls his disciples and walks with them through Judea and Galilee. He teaches, he heals the sick, casts out demons, walks on water, forgives sins, raises the dead. He is attentive to children. He shares meals, a wedding party, pilgrimages to Jerusalem. He lives as a Jewish believer, goes to the synagogue, observes the Sabbath. He weeps, gets angry, experiences sadness, fatigue and thirst, compassion and even anguish. Jesus is known for his natural authority.

With all the miracles he performed, Jesus is the one to whom prayers should be addressed no matter what difficulties one faces.

Mercy

Mercy comes from the Latin misereri which means to have mercy and cor (heart).

Mercy is the deep attitude of the being characterised by the loving disposition to forgive. Sensitivity to the misery and suffering of others and a fundamental benevolence towards one's neighbour. This is one of the attributes of God that explains his entire plan for the salvation of humanity.

God's goodness is infinite because it is one aspect of his mercy (Ps 86:5).

Virgin Mary

Mary, the mother of Jesus, is a model for the Catholic and Orthodox Churches. She is known as the Mother of God (since 431 at the Council of Ephesus, because Jesus is at the same time the Son of God and God himself), Mary of Nazareth, the Blessed Virgin, the Holy Mary, the Immaculate Conception, Our Lady...

The Virgin Mary, like all the saints of the Church, intercedes for believers before God. She is the advocate of believers. Through prayer, the faithful can ask the Virgin Mary for faith, courage, strength, gentleness, humility, etc.
