thanksgiving to GodThe reading of chapter 15 of the book of Exodus is an excellent song of victory. Thanking (before the demonstration has taken place or even been sensed) is a very powerful form of prayer.
Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the LORD. And they said, I will sing unto the LORD: for he has made his glory to shine forth; he has cast the horse and his rider into the sea. The LORD is my strength and my praise: he has saved me. He is my God: I will praise him. He is the God of my father: I will exalt him. The LORD is a mighty man of valor; the LORD is his name. He threw Pharaoh's chariots and his army into the sea; his chosen men were swallowed up in the Red Sea. The waves have covered them: they are gone down into the depths of the waters like a stone. Your right hand, O LORD. Thy right hand, O LORD, has declared its strength. Has crushed the enemy. By the greatness of thy majesty thou hast overthrown thine enemies: thou hast poured out thine anger: it burneth them up like stubble. By the breath of thy nostrils the waters are piled up, and the currents are set up as a wall, and the waves are hardened in the midst of the sea. The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my vengeance shall be satisfied; I will draw out the sword, my hand shall destroy them. Thou hast breathed with thy breath: the sea hath covered them; they are sunk like lead in the depth of the waters. Who is like unto thee among the gods, O LORD? Who is like thee, holy and excellent in holiness, worthy of praise, and a wonder-worker of wonders? Thou hast stretched forth thy right hand: the earth hath swallowed them up.
By thy mercy thou hast led, thou hast delivered this people: by thy power hast thou led them to the habitation of thy holiness. And when the people heard this, they trembled: the Philistines were terrified, and the princes of Edom were dismayed, and the mighty men of Moab trembled, and all the inhabitants of Canaan fainted. Fear and dread shall overtake them;
By the greatness of thine arm shall they be dumb as a stone, until thy people pass over, O LORD. Until the people whom thou hast purchased are passed away. And thou shalt bring them, and set them in the mountain of thine inheritance, in the place which thou hast prepared for thy dwelling place, O LORD. In the sanctuary, O Lord, which thy hands have founded. The LORD shall reign forever and ever. For Pharaoh's horses, and his chariots, and his horsemen, went into the sea, and the LORD brought the waters of the sea upon them: but the children of Israel walked on dry land in the midst of the sea. And Mary the prophetess, Aaron's sister, took a timbrel in her hand: and all the women came after her with timbrels and with dancing. And Mary said unto the children of Israel, Sing unto the LORD; for he has made his glory to shine: he has thrown the horse and his rider into the sea. Moses sent Israel out of the Red Sea. And they went toward the wilderness of Shur: and it came to pass after three days' journey in the wilderness, that they found no water. And they came to Marah; but they could not drink the water of Marah, because it was bitter. That is why this place was called Marah. The people murmured against Moses, saying, "What shall we drink? Moses cried out to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a wood, and he threw it into the water. And the water became sweet. There the LORD gave the people statutes and ordinances, and there he tested them. And he said, If you will diligently hearken unto the voice of the LORD your God, and will do that which is right in his sight, and will give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will not smite you with any of the diseases which I have smitten the Egyptians with: for I am the LORD that heals you. And they came to Elim, where there were twelve springs of water, and seventy palm trees. And they encamped there by the water.

To God, the being above all, nothing is impossible. Everything is possible with him. Whatever difficulties you find yourself in, trust in him, have faith. Pray to him and he will answer you.
Prayers addressed directly to God do not go through any intermediary. He receives them as they are. Some people prefer this type of prayer where they speak, in their hearts, directly to God.
God is present everywhere. Within us and without us. Even when we think we are alone, he is there. He sees us, he listens to us. He knows us better than we know ourselves.
Like a good father with his children, he is compassionate, merciful and always ready to forgive us our failings and sins.
Let us entrust ourselves to him, ask him for the grace to be a reflection of his love for mankind. Let us entrust ourselves to him and be attentive to the different signs and messages that he sends us every day, within us or outside us through our fellow human beings.
