Psalm 44 : To keep oneself out of danger against enemies

This psalm is to be recited to keep yourself holy and safe against the evils that the enemies want to do you.

Psalm 44
44.1
(44: 1) To the Chief Musician. Of the sons of Korah. Canticle. (44: 2) O God! we have heard with our ears, Our fathers told us of the works which you did in their days, in the days of old.

(44: 3) With your hand you drove out the nations to establish them; You smote the peoples to extend them.
44.3
(44: 4) For it was not by their sword that they took possession of the land, it was not their arm that saved them; But it's your right, it's your arm, it's the light of your face, Because you loved them.

(44: 5) O God! you are my king: Command the deliverance of Jacob!
44.5
(44: 6) With you we overthrow our enemies, With your name we crush our opponents.
44.6
(44: 7) For it is not in my bow that I trust, it is not my sword that will save me;
44.7
(44: 8) But it is you who deliver us from our enemies, and confuse those who hate us.
44.8
(44: 9) We glorify ourselves in God daily, and we will praise your name forever. -Pause.

(44:10) Yet you push us back, you cover us with shame, you no longer go out with our armies;
44.10
(44:11) You make us fall back from the enemy, and those who hate us take away our spoils.

(44:12) You give us like sheep to be devoured; You scatter us among the nations.
44.12
(44:13) You sell your people for nothing, you do not esteem them at great value.
44.13
(44:14) You make us an object of reproach to our neighbors, of mockery and ridicule to those around us;
44.14
(44:15) You make us a sarcasm among the nations, and a nod among the peoples.
44.15
(44:16) My shame is always before me, And confusion covers my face,
44.16
(44:17) At the voice of him who insults and reproaches me, At the sight of the enemy and the vindictive.

(44:18) All this happens to us, without our having forgotten you, without our having violated your covenant:
44.18
(44:19) Our heart is not turned away, Our footsteps are not departed from your path,
44.19
(44:20) That you crush us in the dwelling of the jackals, and cover us with the shadow of death.
44.20
(44:21) If we had forgotten the name of our God, and stretched out our hands to a foreign god,
44.21
(44:22) Wouldn't God know, He who knows the secrets of the heart?
44.22
(44:23) But it is because of you that we are slaughtered every day, that we are regarded as sheep destined for slaughter.

(44:24) Wake up! Why are you sleeping, Lord? Wake up! do not drive us away forever!
44.24
(44:25) Why do you hide your face? Why do you forget our misery and our oppression?
44.25
(44:26) For our soul is crushed in the dust, Our body is attached to the earth.
44.26
(44:27) Arise, to help us! Deliver us because of your goodness!
