Each of us has offended and/or been offended. Sometimes the pain we have suffered overwhelms us and prevents us from living our lives to the full.
God is merciful and can free us from all sorrow.
On this page we have put together several prayers of repentance, to ask for forgiveness and to receive forgiveness.
For a fresh start, if you have offended, ask forgiveness from the people you have offended; if you have been wronged, FORGIVE, free yourself from sorrow, forget, entrust yourself to GOD and LIVE!

Blessed Charles de Foucauld's Prayer of forgiveness to God

"My God, forgive me, forgive me,
forgiveness for my lukewarmness
forgiveness for my cowardice
forgiveness for my dissipation,
forgiveness for my pride,
forgiveness for my attachment to my own will,
forgiveness for my weakness and inconstancy,
forgiveness for the disorder of my thoughts,
forgive me for sometimes remembering so little that I am in your presence.

Forgive me, forgive me
for all my faults,
for all the faults in my life,
and especially those I have committed
since the beginning of my conversion!

You who can turn stones into children of Abraham,
You who can do everything in me,
convert me, Lord".

Blessed Charles de Foucauld (1858 - 1916)

Prayer of repentance by Saint Thomas Aquinas

"To you, O God, the fountain of mercy, I come, a sinner; deign therefore to wash me, an unclean man.
O sun of justice, shine on the blind.
Eternal Physician, heal the wounded.
O King of kings, clothe the destitute.
O mediator between God and man, reconcile the guilty.
O Good Shepherd, bring back a wanderer.
Grant, O God, mercy to the wretched, indulgence to the criminal, life to the dead, justification to the godless, the anointing of grace to the hardened.
O most merciful, remember me when I flee, draw me when I resist, lift me when I fall, sustain me when I walk.
Do not forget me when I forget you, do not abandon me when I abandon you, do not despise me when I sin.
For in sinning I have offended you, my God, I have wronged my neighbour, I have not spared myself.
I have sinned, my God, out of weakness against you, Almighty Father,
in ignorance against you, most wise son,
in malice against you, Holy Spirit of mercy;
in all this I have offended you, sublime Trinity.
Ah, wretched man, how many and how great, how diverse have been my faults! I abandoned you, Lord, and before your goodness I deplore it, out of an evil love, out of an evil fear, and I preferred to lose you than to lack what I loved or face what I feared.
O my God, how much evil I have done in word and deed, sinning secretly, openly and stubbornly!
I beg you therefore, in view of my frailty, not to look at my iniquity, but at your immense goodness, and to forgive with clemency what I have done, giving me sorrow for the past and effective vigilance for the future. So be it."

Prayer to ask for and receive forgiveness for our sins, faults, iniquities, transgressions and offences

Prayer of repentance and to ask forgiveness when sin weighs on us and wants to crush us (Based on David's Psalm 51)

Have mercy on me, O God, in your goodness; according to your great mercy, blot out my transgressions;
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
For I acknowledge my transgressions, I confess them before you, I confess that I have sinned.
I have sinned against you and done what is evil in your sight.
righteous in your judgement, blameless in your judgement.
Behold, I was born with sin within me; from the womb
sin had already defiled me and was already in me. I was contaminated by Adam's sin and I was born a sinner, separated from God.
But you want the truth to be in my heart: so let wisdom enter me!
Wash me with the Blood of Jesus, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, and I will be whiter than snow. And wash me, oh my God, with the water of your Word, for the Gospel of Jesus Christ is like pure water to wash me, to wash my mind of evil thoughts, follies and foolish words that have contaminated me in this world, to wash me of the lies and falsehoods that I have heard and believed to be true, to wash me of every immorality and impurity or spiritual stain whatsoever.

Bring me gladness and joy, and the bones you have broken will rejoice.
Turn away your eyes from my sins; blot out all my iniquities.
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.
Do not cast me from your presence, do not withdraw from me. Do not forsake me. May I not lose communion with you, may I not be ashamed and confounded before you, may guilt and a sense of unworthiness not overcome me and prevent me from praying and praising my God and worshipping my God. I receive your forgiveness, oh my God, because Jesus gave his life on the cross so that I could be forgiven for all my sins, for all my offences, for all the evil things I have done that attract chastisement and punishment. I receive your forgiveness, my God, because I believe that, having confessed my sin, you are faithful and just to forgive me my sins and to cleanse me from all my iniquities. You forgive me. Thank you for forgiving me!

Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and may a spirit of goodwill sustain me. Renew the joy in my heart and remove the sadness from my soul. Let your peace be poured into my soul. Let every burden be lifted from my shoulders, from my afflicted but repentant soul.
I will teach your ways to those who transgress them, and sinners will return to you. I will testify to what you have done for me, and share it with others.

O God, the God of my salvation, deliver me from the power of sin and its consequences, and my tongue will praise your mercy.
O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise.
If you had wanted sacrifices, I would have offered them to you.
but repentance and turning to you with all my heart, turning from my sins and rejecting them, that I despise sin and reject what you call sin, that I believe in the Lord Jesus and accept him as the Saviour of my sinful soul and accept the sacrifice he made on the cross to save me and to take away my sin.
The sacrifices that are pleasing to God are a broken spirit: O God, you do not despise a broken and contrite heart. I give you my body, my soul and my spirit. I give myself to you Lord. I give you my life. Take me and give me Jesus. Fill me with your Holy Spirit and your living Word. May your Spirit rest upon me, may I be anointed with your Spirit, and may he guide me into all truth and keep me from stumbling, in Jesus' name. Amen.

(According to Psalm 51)

Prayer to release forgiveness towards those who have offended us

Eternal Father, Jesus commanded us, his disciples, to forgive men their trespasses against us, their sin, the evil they have done to us.
"Mat6:14 If you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; Mat6:15 but if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive you your trespasses." Lord, I understand that forgiveness is required of me, I must forgive those who have sinned against me, I cannot afford not to forgive.

Not to forgive would have serious consequences for me; not to forgive would cause my heart to harden and prevent God from answering my prayers; not to forgive would cause my heart to fill with bitterness, anger, frustration, even hatred towards the person I refused to forgive; not forgiving would open a door for the devil to come and strike at me and torment my thoughts and harm me in every area of my life; not forgiving would anger God's heart towards me and God would even be obliged to punish me and withhold my own forgiveness.

For it is written and Jesus himself said: "Mark 11:25 And when you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive, so that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.  Mark 11:26 But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses."

So, Heavenly Father, I decide to act like an obedient child towards you and forgive. I decide to forgive anyone who has sinned against me and offended me. I decide to forgive no matter how much pain and suffering their sins have caused me.

Yes, it hurt, it hurt a lot, but I have to forgive, I can't take revenge on myself, I can't take the law into my own hands, but I absolutely have to forgive. I decide to free those who have offended me and to forgive them and hold nothing against them. Heavenly Father, I forgive my enemies, I forgive the men who are my enemies, who hate me and do me harm, I forgive those men and women with wicked hearts who speak against me, plot to do me harm, and take me for the enemy when I mean them no harm. Father, I forgive them and I do not consider them my enemies, I do not seek vengeance on them, but I ask you, my God, to forgive them their sins against me, for they do not know what they are doing, they are led astray and seduced by the evil one, it is the devil who stirs them up against me, it is the devil who is my real enemy.

Father, I forgive anyone who has sinned against me among men. I forgive my parents because they have sometimes sinned against me, they are only human, they are imperfect, there is sin in them as in every other human being. I forgive the bad words, the hurtful and vexatious words, I forgive the injustices because there have sometimes been unjust people, I forgive their failings towards me. I forgive my brothers and sisters in my natural family, I forgive the quarrels and arguments they have sometimes provoked, the mockery and taunts that have sometimes come from their mouths, I forgive the unkind and dishonest words that have hurt me very much, I forgive all their sins against me, all the offences, all the things that have caused me pain, saddened my soul, vexed my spirit. I forgive everything, in Jesus' name.

My God, I forgive everyone who has sinned against me, I forgive friends, schoolmates I've had, present and former neighbours, work colleagues, relatives, uncles, aunts, cousins, grandparents, everyone. I forgive in the name of Jesus. I forgive as I myself have been forgiven. I forgive and place all judgement in God's hands. I forgive with all my heart in the name of Jesus. It is you who will heal my wounded heart, my God. It is you who will console me for the wrong done to me. You are the one who will protect me from those who hate me. It is you who will guard me to the end and plead my cause, Lord Jesus. Thank you God. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.

Prayer to ask God for forgiveness for our sins

Eternal Father, it is written in the Holy Bible that "1John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he (God) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

God, my Lord, my Creator, I confess that I have sinned against you and committed iniquities; I confess that I have transgressed your law and it is sin; I confess that I have broken your commandments, not kept them which you commanded me, not done what you commanded me to do and done what you commanded me not to do, and in this I have sinned. I confess and repent.

Please forgive me. I acknowledge that I have offended my neighbour on certain occasions and that I have sinned against him. Forgive me, I pray. I acknowledge that I have sometimes sinned against the government by any disobedience or fraud or cheating or deceit. Please forgive me.

Oh God, forgive me for having sinned against you, against my family, against my friends, against my enemies, against the government of my country, against the Lord's church and other followers of Jesus, against my pastor, and against the man next to me. Forgive me I pray and blot out my sin from your books; remember it no more; chastise me not but forgive me; condemn me not and let my guilt be blotted out and nothing held against me; receive no accusation from the devil against me for I trust in the blood of Jesus shed on the Cross for me, I trust in the atoning sacrifice of Jesus, Jesus suffered the punishment I deserved, Jesus suffered in my place, Jesus suffered the humiliation, shame, and punishment my sins deserved, that I might not perish but have eternal life and be justified before God, that I might be declared not guilty and that there might be no condemnation for me. Jesus was declared guilty in my place, he exchanged places with me before the tribunal of God, before the throne of justice of God; Jesus gave me his justice as a gift, I am declared just by the justice of Jesus which was imputed to me simply as a grace, as the grace of God towards me, as the gift of God towards me, as the favour of God which is imputed to me when I did not deserve it.

Heavenly Father, I confess my sins and I repent of them: the sin of wickedness, the sin of disobedience, the sin of having (LET US KNOW THEM)? Forgive them all and wash my soul so that I sin no more. Wash me by the blood of Jesus.

Purify me. Sanctify me. Destroy the evil in me. Destroy the sin in my flesh, in my body. Destroy the sin in my heart and mind. So that I may be free from it, delivered from it, and so that sin no longer has dominion over me and does not drag me where I do not want to go. I don't want to sin any more. I want to do what is right and good. Give me the strength to practise justice, to obey God, to love my God and to love my neighbour man.

Give me the strength to keep God's commandments and to obey God's law in everything. Give me strength through his Holy Spirit and through your living and abiding word in me.

Father, it is written: "Romans 3:20 For by the works of the law shall no man be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. Rom 3:21 But now the righteousness of God is manifested without the law, to which the law and the prophets bear witness, Rom 3:22 the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. There is no distinction. Rom 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God; Rom 3:24 and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus. Rom 3:25 For whom God hath purposed by his blood to be a propitiation to them that believe, to show his righteousness, because he had left unpunished the sins that were committed before, in the days of his patience; that he might show his righteousness in this present time, that he might be just, and might justify him that believeth in Jesus."

So I believe that you forgive me and I receive my full forgiveness in the name of Jesus. I receive forgiveness for all my sins, for all my faults, for all my failings, for all the evil things I have said or done.

I receive the forgiveness offered to me in Jesus Christ, the forgiveness that comes to me from him. I proclaim my forgiveness, based on your word. I believe I am forgiven and cleansed of my sins, I believe I am sanctified. I believe I am no longer guilty. There is no longer any shame for me. There is no more condemnation. Let the devil shut his mouth and not accuse me, in Jesus' name, for I am forgiven. My conscience is cleansed. Thank you Lord, thank you Jesus, thank you Daddy, you have forgiven me, you have been merciful to me. I rejoice, the peace of God fills my heart, my soul rests in peace. I am blessed.

Purification

Every day, through our activities and interactions with others and the environment, we get dirty in one way or another. Physically, we need to wash ourselves every day to cleanse ourselves, to remove all the dirt that would prevent us from feeling better.

Just as we get dirty physically, we also get dirty spiritually. We get dirty spiritually by our actions or indirectly by the malicious actions of others. Dirt" can thus be born from our sins, from bewitchments or from any other voluntary or involuntary action carried out with the aim of causing harm.

When we are "spiritually dirty", things do not always work out as they should. Some people will say that they are unlucky, unlucky. Biological illnesses, spiritual illnesses and problems of all kinds are always there as if called or attracted by a magnet. There is always an event or the action of others that will prevent the success of our undertakings.

In these unfortunate situations, we need to "spiritually cleanse" ourselves, to purify ourselves. Spiritual cleansing cleanses us from all defilement. It removes the dark veil that prevents us from living fully and darkens our energies, our inner light.

It is true that everyone can purify themselves through prayer and a healthy lifestyle that will attract positive energies and at the same time remove anything that could attract evil. However, there are cases that require the action of an experienced specialist (for example a priest for Catholic Christians). God, through the Holy Spirit, will work through him to pull out the roots of evil and, through your faith and constant prayer, you can complete this work.

We are gathering for you prayers with the keyword PURIFICATION, to enable you to renew yourselves from time to time and live your lives fully as true children of God.

Forgiveness

Many of us have experienced offences that have shaken us so badly that it has not been easy to forgive. Frustrated, heartbroken and resentful, we wish harm and seek revenge. In these attitudes, we hurt ourselves even more. People with a certain knowledge of how things work tell us that refusing to forgive and wishing harm on those who have wronged us is like drinking poison and wishing that it is the people who have offended you who die

By brooding over anger, frustrations and resentments every day, you are killing yourself. You are "committing suicide"!

It is better to FORGIVEFORGIVENESS liberates, sanctifies, renews, gives inner peace and allows you to approach life's events more serenely. If you decide to forgive or ask for forgiveness sincerely, you will see the positive changes that will take place. Whatever damage you have suffered, forgive and entrust yourself to God who, through the Holy Spirit, will be able to inspire you and guide you in order to avoid or overcome the nuisances of malicious people.

Through this keyword "FORGIVENESS", we offer you prayers that will inspire you with the words to forgive and also to receive forgiveness.
