Saints healing physical illnessesSaint Godeliève is invoked to obtain the healing of sore throats and tonsil inflammation.
INVOCATION:
We pray to you, Almighty God, that after having honoured without ceasing the glorious sufferings of Saint Godeliève, we deserve her intercession with you, in order to obtain from your goodness and through her prayers the healing that we seek through Our Lord Jesus Christ. So be it.
Saint Godeliève, who has a special grace to heal sore throats, pray for us who implore you with confidence.
LET US PRAY:
The goods of the earth, which dissipate in an instant like a light vapor, cannot make the possessor happy. Lord, when I ask the rich man who is raised to the summit of human prosperity, to whom nothing is lacking, if he is satisfied, only complaints, cries of anguish and pain come out of the mouth of this happy man of the world. It is easier for a camel, you say, to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. What rich man should not be afraid to hear these terrible words from your mouth: "And now, O rich men, weep and howl in the misery that will come upon you. You have lived on the earth in delight and pleasure; you have grown fat for the day of sacrifice. "Support me, Lord, by the grace of the Holy Spirit; support me inwardly with your virtue, so that I may banish from my heart all the vain cares that torment it, and that I may not be carried away by the desire for anything; but that, enjoying all things as they are, I may see that they pass away, and that I will also pass away with them. For there is nothing stable under the sun; and all is vanity and affliction of spirit. So be it.
