INVOCATION:
Lord, who are yourselves the reward of your servants and who have showered with glory and honor Saint Peter Chrysologus, deign, I beg you, to grant me the perfect healing which I ask for through his merits and his prayers; grant, O my God, that I may praise and bless you a thousand and a thousand times in the company of your elect and throughout eternity. We beseech you, through Our Lord Jesus Christ. So be it.
Saint Peter Chrysologus, whom we invoke so effectively against pernicious fevers and against rabies, pray for us.

PRAYER:
If your Word, O my God, had not become man, and had not remained among us, I should have despaired because of the multitude and the greatness of my crimes and my infidelities: but doubt does not arise. 'is no longer allowed; for if, while we were still so far from you, we were reconciled to you by the death of your Son, how much better can we be today, that we have already been delivered from your anger! Truly my confidence and all my hope is in the precious blood of our Savior, who shed it for our salvation. It is through this blood that I begin to be reborn; It is through my trust in him that I feel the desire to reach you, not through my own justice, but through that of your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ. So be it.
