Saint Marcellinus was the first bishop of Embrun where his relics were deposited. He is its patron and protector.
Saint Marcellinus lived in the 4th century; his influence was great on the blossoming of Christianity in the country he evangelised. His holiness attracted many faithful and his examples sanctified more than one pagan by making him understand the gentleness of Jesus Christ and the happiness of the Redemption Saint Marcellinus is especially invoked to obtain a cure for stroke.

INVOCATION:
O God, who ablaze with zeal and charity Saint Marcellinus, your pontiff, grant your servants to profit so much from his examples that we deserve to experience with you the effects of his protection in all the help that we ask for by Our Lord Jesus Christ. So be it.
Saint Marcellinus, that we never pray without being consoled in our sorrows and without being relieved in our sufferings, pray for us.

PRAYER:
Be forever blessed, God of mercies, God of all consolation: you will soon give me the happiness that I have sought in vain on earth; I will pass from this valley of tears to the heavenly homeland, from darkness to light, from death to the happy life. O dazzling day of eternity, which has no end, let night never darken: unchanging day of rest and delight and intoxicating bliss! O good Jesus, when will it be given to me to see you, to contemplate your face! when will you be me all in all things!
While waiting for the hour of my deliverance, I will prepare myself, Lord, to appear before you. I will purify my conscience more and more, and I will wash away all my iniquities; I will repair my faults, my scandals, my injustices; I will patiently endure the sicknesses, the sufferings and all the infirmities of old age: this is how I will wait for death, O my God! So be it.
