Saints
Saint Eudoce is especially invoked for the healing of abscesses.
Saint Eudoce, born in Sicily, about 350, of rich and noble parents, was raised in the practice of virtue and in the study of sacred texts.
At a very young age, he left his family, abandoned his inheritance to the poor, and took the pilgrim's staff. He died a martyr of his faith.
INVOCATION
Almighty and Eternal God, who deigned to choose Saint Eudoce so that he would pour out his blessings on us and more particularly dedicated to the healing of abscesses, make that, devoutly celebrating his memory, we obtain by his merits, the healing that we let's ask. So be it.
By Saint Eudoce (+), badly die.
By saint Eudoce (+), badly pierces.
By Saint Eudoce (+), badly healed.
PRAYER
Great God, can men destroy what you have built? do your adorable wills find some resistance in the vain oppositions of the wicked? What can their feeble efforts lead to, than to facilitate the accomplishment of what you have solved? The more they strive to resist against me the orders of your wisdom, the more these unchanging orders will have their effect their opposition responds to me for your help and victory; I become dearer to you the more I am exposed. It is your glory, Lord, that is attacked; it is the cherished work of your grace that you have to defend. Do not look at me myself, you would not see anything in my soul that should not take you away from me; but look, Lord, at what you yourself have done there: faith, love, compunction, trust, the new heart that you have created within me. You will defend your priceless gifts, O my God; you will keep me as the apple of the eye; you will surround this new light which you have shed in my soul with so many ramparts that neither the wind of tribulations nor the vain dust of prosperity and riches will ever be able to extinguish it. So be it.
