If you live in a besieged city that you cannot go to, or that you cannot leave without running risks, if you have an urgent business to deal with and you need to venture out on a journey, then before you go leave the city, recite this psalm in a low voice in the direction of North, South, East, West. Thus you will pass near all the sentries without being seen or disturbed. A heavy sleep will fall upon her so that they will not realize that you are passing by.

Psalm 130
130.1
Song of degrees. From the bottom of the abyss I call on you, O Lord!
130.2
Lord, listen to my voice! May your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications!
130.3
If you kept the remembrance of iniquities, O Lord, Lord, who could stand?
130.4
But forgiveness is found with you, so that you may be feared.
130.5
I hope in the Lord, my soul waits, and I wait for his promise.
130.6
My soul relies on the Lord, More than the guards count on the morning, Let the guards count on the morning.
130.7
Israel, put your hope in the Lord! For mercy is with the Lord, and redemption is with him in abundance.
130.8
It is he who will redeem Israel From all their iniquities.
