thanksgiving Mercy Saints
Who am I then, O my divine Redeemer, that you have loved me so much, and have done so with so much perseverance? What have you received from me that has aroused this love in you, if not disgust and discontent which should have instead forced you to abandon me and drive me out of your presence? I would accept, Lord, any kind of punishment, but not this; if you abandoned me, I could no longer love you, and it is in loving you that I put all my happiness. I want to love you as much as an unhappy sinner can do, who, forgetting the favors and proofs of love he has received from you, has moved away from you and has voluntarily renounced your grace for vain pleasures of 'one moment.
Forgive me, my beloved Jesus, as I sincerely repent of all the displeasure I have caused you. But you know I don't just settle for forgiveness; I want, as much as I can, to compensate with love for the ingratitude that I have shown so far. An innocent soul gives you thanks for having preserved it from sin; I must love you, I, like a rebellious sinner, condemned to the penalties of hell for his sins, and always redeemed by you, and brought back to the ways of salvation, rich in lights, help and holy inspirations. O Redeemer of men, who have been so often of my soul, you have finally shown me so much love, that, overcome by the proofs you have given me, I could not help but love you too and place all my love in you. So I love you, O infinite goodness, O infinitely lovable God; but still increase these holy flames which consume me, pierce my heart with the arrows of your love; for your own glory, make yourself loved by the one who offended you the most. Mary, O my Mother, you are the hope and the refuge of sinners, so help a sinner who wants to make himself agreeable to God and love only him.

Mercy comes from the Latin misereri which means to have mercy and cor (heart).
Mercy is the deep attitude of the being characterised by the loving disposition to forgive. Sensitivity to the misery and suffering of others and a fundamental benevolence towards one's neighbour. This is one of the attributes of God that explains his entire plan for the salvation of humanity.
God's goodness is infinite because it is one aspect of his mercy (Ps 86:5).
