Saints healing physical illnessesSaint Rose of Lima was born in Lima in 1586, at a time when South America was still pagan. Motivated by the holy desire to devote herself to God and the poor, she entered the Dominican Third Order and spent her life in silence and suffering, with all her soul turned towards Heaven. She is greatly honoured in Peru.
INVOCATION
O God, who allows us to have recourse to your Saints so that they themselves may commend us to your mercy, grant the prayers we address to you through Saint Rose, your faithful servant; may her intercession deliver our souls from sin and our bodies from the evils we endure, so that we may bless your name. Through Our Lord Jesus Christ. So be it.
Holy Rose of Lima, all shining with the brilliance of miracles, pray for us and help us in all our sorrows and in all the evils we are attacked with.
ORAISON
O my Jesus! Only Son of God, splendor of the eternal Father, who dwells in an inaccessible light, and illuminate the whole world with your grace: dispel the darkness that obscures my spirit; may your graces and mercies enlighten it, so that it may not be completely blinded by the artifices of the devil: For it is weak, Lord, like these newly planted shrubs: and as these need to be watered with pure water and refreshed by the sweetest winds: so my soul in its weakness needs to be enlightened and strengthened by your grace. The chalice of your precious blood is full of light and life: give it to me, my sweet Saviour. But I, poor sinner, what shall I give you? Let my heart become your temple, and let my life be a psalm in your honor. So be it.
