This young shepherdess spent her time in prayer tending her sheep. Saint Germaine Cousin devoted her whole life to God and refused to marry; her parents, who did not understand that she was thirsty for God, rejected her and no longer wanted to know her. Alone, abandoned by those of this world who should, on the contrary, have been her support, she suffered cruelly.
But God taught her to endure suffering and humiliation with joy and filled her with spiritual consolation.
Saint Germaine Cousin is invoked for those who have lost their sight.

INVOCATION:
O Lord Jesus, we look forward to all your goodness through the intercession of Saint Germaine Cousin. You love to glorify, through the brilliance of miracles, the virtues and merits of your chosen ones. Therefore fully relieve us of the evils we suffer from, and grant us, O my God, the grace to live so holy that we may sing with her your infinite mercies during Eternity. So be it.
St. Germaine, especially invoked to preserve or recover her sight, pray for us.

LET US PRAY:
O my crucified Savior Jesus! I want your holy cross to be always present to me, especially at the hour of my death. It must always and everywhere lift me up above the world, its pleasures and its scandals. I am ready to suffer for you, O my Saviour, all the sorrows you will send me. In order to live and die in perfect conformity with you, I would willingly renounce the world and remain nailed to your cross until I hear your sweet voice telling me, as you say to the good thief: "Today you will be with me in paradise. " So be it.
