Saints ProtectionSaint Patrick was raised in the Christian faith. When he was 16 years old he was kidnapped by pirates and taken into slavery in Ireland; he spent 5 or 6 years there and learned the language and customs of that country. Having found a small treasure at the suggestion of an angel, he bought his freedom and returned to France.
INVOCATION:
O God, who deigned to send the blessed Patrick, your pontiff, to preach the glory of your name to the peoples of Ireland, do, O Almighty God, that this holy solemnity of your servant increases in us the spirit of piety and the desire for our salvation; grant us, by his merits and his intercession, the grace to be able to accomplish what you command us to do. Through Our Lord Jesus Christ. So be it.
Saint Patrick, obtain for me, through your prayers and your merits, the healing that I ask of you.
PRAYER:
O my Jesus! who have suffered so much for me, I also want to suffer for your holy name. Ah! life would be unbearable to me if I had nothing to suffer for you, O my crucified love! Suffer for you, O my Savior! is my only consolation in this world. So be it.
