Saint John the Baptist is invoked against spasms, convulsions and epilepsy. In many regions he is also invoked against hail.
Saint John the Baptist, the greatest saint of all times, was the one who said: "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand"; he preached the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. He also said: "He who is mightier than I am is coming after me, and I am not even worthy to untie the strap of his shoes. I have baptised you with water. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit. »

INVOCATION:
O almighty and merciful God, grant that we find, throughout our life, in your precursor Saint John the Baptist, the one whose merits will obtain for us the healing which we ask for; also let him be the confident and charitable guide who will surely lead us to you, Savior of the world, who live and reign with God the Father and the Holy Spirit forever and ever. So be it.
Saint John the Baptist, whom we invoke so effectively for the healing of spasms and convulsions, pray for us.

PRAYER:
Seeing you covered with wounds, O my Jesus! I cannot consent to live without wounds. May your pains therefore descend into my soul: I want to be buried with you. May my life be hidden with you in God. So be it.
