Saint Hubert is invoked against ferocious beasts and rabid dogs.
The son of a Duke of Aquitaine, Saint Hubert led a life of pleasure in which hunting played an important role. One day while he was chasing a superb ten horns, the deer suddenly stopped and faced him. Between its horns it carried a luminous crucifix. Saint Hubert set foot on the ground, knelt down and, God at that moment, filling him with graces and wisdom, changed his heart and led him along the ecclesiastical path.
Saint Hubert performed many miracles; he delivered the possessed, healed the blind and the paralytic. He is also invoked against rabies.

INVOCATION:
O God who is the repairer and the support of human weakness and on whom all the moments of life depend, we most humbly beseech you to help us. By the merits of Saint Hubert and by his intercession, hear us, Lord. So be it.
Saint Hubert, who has never been invoked in vain, pray for us.

PRAYER:
Divine mediator between God and man, Lord Jesus Christ, who took from the chaste womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary a flesh like ours, and who, for our salvation, on the altar of the cross, slain to your Father, like a spotless victim and pleasing to his eyes, your adorable body; you who have given yourselves to mankind as a means of salvation, in order to ward off the contagion of sin: deliver me from the innumerable bonds in which my misery struggles. So be it.
