Prayer to Saint Hilary of Poitiers against the bite of snakes

INVOCATION:
O Lord our God, who showered our holy bishop with glory, this illustrious teacher who was one of the lights of the Church and who so loved the divine law; who defended, at the cost of his freedom, the divinity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, attacked by the Arians: deign, O my God, by his intercession, to preserve us from anything that could harm our salvation in this world. We pray to you through Our Lord Jesus Christ. So be it.
Saint Hilary, who preserve and heal from the bite of snakes, pray for us.

PRAYER:
O my Jesus! Cover me in the white shroud of innocence, forgiving my sins, and making me persevere in holiness. And when my body waits in this long sleep of death on the day of the last judgment, grant that my soul, presenting itself to you covered with this white shroud, be admitted into the eternal abode of your glory. Then on the third day, on that great day when you will return among us, as the master of the harvest, grant that I rise again glorious, and that I contemplate eternally with the saints the splendors of your beauty. So be it.
