O my God, do not reject me as I have too often deserved, for I want to make amends! I recognise that my life, so full of neglect, cannot satisfy you; I see that it is I myself who by my lukewarmness closes the door to these graces that you would like to give me.
Lord, do not forsake me, but continue to have pity on me, who wishes to raise me from such a wretched state. From now on I want to be diligent in taming my passions, in following your inspirations instead of abandoning them out of lukewarmness, in fulfilling my duties with more zeal. In a word, from now on I want to do my utmost to please you, and I do not want to neglect anything that I know will please you. You, my Jesus, have been so lavish in your graces towards me, you have been pleased to give your life and blood for me, it is shameful that I am so ungrateful to you. Ah, you deserve every honour, every love, and you also deserve to bear with joy all the work, all the sufferings to please you.
