Lord, have mercy on us Lord, have mercy on us
O Christ, have mercy on us O Christ, have mercy on us
Lord, have mercy on us Lord, have mercy on us

Jesus, listen to us Jesus, listen to us
Jesus, hear us. Jesus, hear us. Jesus, hear us.

Heavenly Father who is God, have mercy on us.
Son, Redeemer of the world who is God, have mercy on us.
Holy Spirit who is God, have mercy on us.
Holy Trinity who are one God, have mercy on us.

Jesus, Lamb without blemish, sacrificed from the beginning of the world, have mercy on us.
Jesus, who desired to shed your Blood for the salvation of men, have mercy on us.
Jesus, who, to redeem men, poured out all your Blood on the cross, have mercy on usPrecious Blood, which flows abundantly from the sacred wounds of Jesus, pour out upon us.
Precious blood, which comes out of the adorable Heart of Jesus opened by the lance, flow back to us.
Precious blood, ransom of an infinite prize, be upon us...
Precious blood, a salutary bath always prepared for our sinful souls, spill over to us.
Precious blood, always a gushing source of graces and blessings, spill over on us.
Precious blood, from the New and Eternal Testament, be poured out upon us.
Precious blood, whose voice rises to Heaven and cries out for mercy, shine upon us.
Precious blood, strength and support for the languishing souls, reflect on us.
Precious blood, which is the great ocean of divine mercy, shine upon us.

Precious blood, heavenly refreshment and divine drink of holy souls, be reflected upon us.
Precious blood, which washes away the sins of the world, be it upon us...

Through your precious Blood, hear us, Jesus...
Through your precious Blood, hear us, Jesus...

Deliver us, Jesus, from all sin by your precious blood...
Out of the spirit of lies and unbelief, through your precious Blood, deliver us, Jesus.
From contempt of the holy things, through your precious blood, deliver us, Jesus...
From the unworthy reception of your Sacred Body and your adorable Blood, by your precious Blood, deliver us, Jesus
From eternal damnation, by your precious Blood, deliver us, Jesus...

By the sweat of blood that flowed from all your limbs during your agony in the Garden of Olives, hear us, Jesus.
By the precious Blood that the crown of thorns poured from your holy head, hear us, Jesus.
Through the precious Blood you shed as you carried your cross to Calvary, hear us, Jesus.
Through the precious Blood that flowed from your hands and feet when you were tied to the cross, hear us, Jesus.
Through the precious Blood that you shed during the three hours of your agony on the cross, hear us, Jesus.
Through the precious Blood and the sacred water that came forth after your death from your heart pierced by the spear, hear us, Jesus.

Deign to give us the final perseverance and eternal life, which you have earned by shedding your precious Blood for us, hear us, Jesus.
Deign to give us the final perseverance and eternal life, which you have earned for us by shedding your precious Blood.
Deign to grant to the souls of the faithful departed the eternal enjoyment of your glory, acquired at the price of your precious Blood.

Lamb of God, who take away the sins of the world through your precious Blood, forgive us, Jesus.
Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, through your precious Blood, hear us, Jesus.
Lamb of God, who blot out the sins of the world with your precious Blood, have mercy on us, Jesus.

Jesus Christ, listen to us
Jesus Christ, hear us...

R. The fountains of the great abyss poured out abundantly from the bowels of Jesus, and the gates of heaven were opened. Make haste, sinful soul
V. And wash yourself seven times in this Jordan of blood.

Let us pray: O Jesus the adorable Saviour, who deigned to mercifully shed Your Blood on the cross to redeem us from our sins, deign to grant us a forgiveness we do not deserve, remembering only Your infinite mercy and tender love for our souls. Pour out upon us the abundance of your graces, so that we may reach Heaven to enjoy your glory for all eternity. You who live and reign with God the Father and the Holy Spirit forever and ever. Amen.

Litanies

Litanies are prayers characterised by the chanted repetition of intercessory requests. These intercessory requests are generally addressed to the Virgin Mary, the Sacred Heart or the Saints and are intended to solicit their intercession with God.

When to recite the litanies and what are they for?

The litanies are generally recited individually, depending on the difficulty for which help is desired, in groups (in families or in prayer groups) and in certain solemn liturgical ceremonies of the Catholic Church.

The Litanies of the Saints for example, are sung during the Easter Vigil, during baptism ceremonies, priestly or episcopal ordinations and on the feast of the Saints (All Saints).

The prayer of the Litany is foreseen, in particular, during the Easter Vigil, before the blessing of the baptismal water, and also during the celebration of baptism and ordinations to the sacred order of the episcopate, presbyterate and diaconate, as well as in the rite of the consecration of virgins and of religious profession in the rite of dedication of a church and an altar, during rogations, during Masses with stations and during penitential processions, to order the Evil One away in exorcisms, and finally to recommend the dying to the mercy of God.

The Litany of the Saints, which contains elements from both liturgical tradition and popular piety, illustrates the Church's trust in the intercession of the Saints, and highlights her experience of the communion that unites the Church in the heavenly Jerusalem and the Church still on pilgrimage on earth. It is permitted to invoke in the Litany of the Saints the names of those listed in the liturgical calendars of dioceses and religious institutes.

It is evident that it is forbidden to insert in the Litanies the names of persons whose cult is not recognised.

Jesus

Jesus Christ is a central figure in Christianity. He is regarded as the incarnation of God.

The historical existence of Jesus is attested by archaeological research and by the accounts of Roman historians (Flavius Josephus, Tacitus, Suetonius).

At about the age of thirty, Jesus left Nazareth and began an itinerant public life. He calls his disciples and walks with them through Judea and Galilee. He teaches, he heals the sick, casts out demons, walks on water, forgives sins, raises the dead. He is attentive to children. He shares meals, a wedding party, pilgrimages to Jerusalem. He lives as a Jewish believer, goes to the synagogue, observes the Sabbath. He weeps, gets angry, experiences sadness, fatigue and thirst, compassion and even anguish. Jesus is known for his natural authority.

With all the miracles he performed, Jesus is the one to whom prayers should be addressed no matter what difficulties one faces.
