Lord Jesus,
up to now you have gently prepared me
to follow you as a disciple.
Now that this time of preparation
this time of preparation
it seems to me that I hear you say,
as you once said to Peter:
"And have you forsaken me too?
You were sad when
your friends failed you.
But Peter did not abandon you,
for he answered:
"Lord, to whom shall we go?
You have the words of eternal life."
I side with Peter.
In prayer and counsel,
show me, Lord,
the service you want me
in your vineyard
and give me the strength to be faithful to it.
Mary, Mother and Model
help me to respond with generous love
to the call of your divine Son.
