Saints healing physical illnessesSaint Hermeland is invoked to obtain healing from anthrax. Saint Hermeland was born in Touraine to a modest and hard-working family who raised him with respect for the poor and the love of God. When he was old enough he shut himself up in a monastery; but the reputation of his holiness crossed its walls and the miracles he performed were numerous both during his lifetime and after his death.
INVOCATION:
In memory of your sufferings, O my God, make me bear more valiantly my pains and my sufferings. They are nothing, Lord, with yours, but they seem very heavy to me. I beg you, by the merits of Saint Hermeland, to heal me. I beseech you through the intercession of Saint Hermeland. So be it.
Saint Hermeland, who tame the anthrax by the force of your intercession, pray for me.
PRAYER:
O my Jesus! what am I to think when I contemplate you on the cross? Ah! I am your torment. My sins are the nails that fasten your hands and feet to the cross. My bad passions are the lashes that flog your adorable body. The resistance of my will is the spear with which I constantly pierce your sacred side. O my Jesus! have mercy on me, for my sins are the cause of your death, and cause me to follow you. So be it.
