Saint Francis of Paola is invoked for all kinds of spiritual and temporal matters. Nothing is outside of his powerful intercession; he has a particular grace to obtain from God the favor of motherhood to women who have remained sterile; to call the help of Heaven on those who are in the pains of childbirth, and to preserve or restore the health of the little children who are recommended to his intercession.
It was in Calabria, in the city of Paule, that Saint Francis of Paola was born. He was a predestined child who, in his infancy, was already sober.
When he entered a convent at 13, he left it at 14 to live as a hermit, withdrawn from the world. But God sent him so many disciples that he had to found a monastery. He wanted himself and wanted them so small that he called them the Friars Minor.
The number of healings and miracles he performed is staggering. His life was as austere as you can hardly imagine.
Novenas can be made to Saint Francis of Paola, but the best way to honor him and obtain his intercession is to do acts of piety, such as helping the poor, fasting, attending Mass for 13 Fridays in a row. , in memory of his death which took place on a Friday at 3 p.m., in the year 1508.

O lovely Jesus, good Shepherd, preserve the righteous, justify sinners; have compassion on all the faithful departed and be favorable to me, although I am only a very unworthy sinner!

PRAYER
You have deigned, my divine Savior, to place me among your disciples, to make known to me your holy law and your adorable mysteries; you made me your brother and your Father's child, but what my ingratitude and my blindness! how many times have I not blushed at these sublime prerogatives? how many times have I not behaved before men as if I renounced my divine adoption, my heavenly heritage?
I taste the charms of virtue, and I dare not practice it in public! I want to be your disciple, and I am ashamed to recognize you as my master; I feel the need to love you and the happiness of being yours, oh source of all good, and I fear the world and its supporters, I fear their sarcasm and their mockery! O my Savior, since I had the misfortune to share the fault of the first of your apostles, make me share his penance; that I shed bitter tears over my sin, that I make amends with a firm and constant conduct in the practice of my duties. O Jesus, you wanted, for our love, to be mocked, mocked, outraged, in order to atone for the crimes that the love of the world made us commit, the desire for its praises and the fear of its censures. Your humiliations and your reproaches have taught us to despise the mockery of the wicked and the wicked, and have earned us the grace which I beg you to grant me, O my soothsayer Savior! So be it.
