We suggest that you pray to the Lord through the intercession of Louis and Zélie for nine days. A very concrete way to ask their intercession for a particular intention. This novena has also been conceived so that we can deepen our intimacy with this family through prayer. Let us take them into our prayer and enter into their family. They wanted to give birth to saints? May they also give birth to us, in the Wisdom of Christ. Each day, our prayer will be centred on an aspect of the life of Louis and Zélie Martin with one intention of the day which will be translated into a prayer for another intention. Louis and Zélie Martin, you who, in your life as a couple and as parents, have given witness to an exemplary Christian life, through the exercise of your duty of state and the practice of the evangelical virtues, we turn to you today. May the example of your unshakeable trust in God and your constant surrender to his will, through the joys but also the trials, sorrows and sufferings your life has been marked by, encourage us to persevere in our daily difficulties and to remain in Christian joy and hope. Intercede for us with the Father so that we may obtain the graces we so badly need today in our earthly life and that, like you, we may attain eternal beatitude. We pray especially for... Day 1: Prayer for couples and those hoping to start a home
Let us pray for the one we married, remembering the meeting and how love was born, or to find the desired husband or wife.
Lord, you who came to make a covenant, you said: it is not good for a man to be alone. Open the minds and hearts of those who suffer from loneliness in this expectation of a spouse. You alone Jesus can satisfy our souls, come and fill them with your grace and make us docile to your ways which are not ours. Lord, you are good and friend of men, your name is infinite mercy, you thirst to spread your love. We pray with Louis and Zélie in the missionary fervor that burned their souls. Look at your children who have not yet tasted the wine of your delicious Presence. Reveal your Love to those who have not yet experienced it. We pray to you for those of our families who do not know you as well as for those who say they know you but live so little from your love ...

3rd day: Work
Pray for a greater awareness of the value of our work. Let us learn to offer all our actions to Christ, through the Heart of Mary
and the hands of Saint Joseph. May our work become a place of sanctification.
Lord, teach us to seek first the Kingdom of Heaven, to put you like Louis and Zélie in the first place. We pray to you especially for those who are going through professional or financial difficulties and for those who work in difficult conditions. Lord, make us intelligent, daring and concrete in our way of working as Christians.

4th day: The children
Let us pray for our children, our godchildren, the children we meet. Let us learn to love them more and more with a large and generous heart. Let us live in respect and the requirement of true Love in God and by God.
Lord, in your great Love, you asked man to grow and multiply. You allow him to be co-creator by giving life. We thank you for the gift of our life, of our birth and for those who gave us life. We ask you to bless our parents and all those who have helped us to reveal your image of Father. We pray for those who cannot have children, those who do not want their child or those who are in anguish in front of a possible handicap.

5th day: Serve the poor
Let us pray to receive the grace of knowing how to welcome and love the poor. Jesus meek and humble of heart, make our hearts like yours.
Lord you became incarnate and you visited your people making yourself poor among us. We offer you all our fears of failure, our false securities, our attachments to money and material things. Give us the courage to welcome our weaknesses and our sins and offer them to you. Help us to have a poor heart according to the Spirit.

6th day: Living in mourning
Let us pray for the repose of the soul of the deceased, so that the Lord, by the merits of his Passion and Resurrection, draw them into his Glory. Let us also pray for their loved ones so that they receive strength and peace and grow in Hope.
Lord, you are not the God of the dead but of the living! You are alive and risen to give us life and life in abundance. We ask your forgiveness for all these paths that we choose which lead us to all forms of death. We offer you our sorrows and lack of taste for life. Allow us to enter into this flexibility and availability to decrease so that you can grow. With the intercession of Louis and Zélie, we pray for the heads of state and political leaders.

8th day: Suffering and sickness
Let us pray to learn to live all sickness and suffering in the presence of Christ.
Lord, see our inability to suffer! So often we look at the happiness of this earth as if the earth were Heaven. Open the eyes of our hearts so that we realize that we are in exile and that our destiny is near you, in Heaven. We offer you our humiliations in sickness, give us the presence of Mary, may she be meekness in our trials. Through the intercession of Louis and Zélie, we pray for the seriously ill, and more particularly the cancer patients and those who are in psychiatric hospitals.

Lord Jesus, you gave us, at the time of your death, your most precious gift: your Mother. Today we want to take her home, let her be there. Yes, we dedicate all that we are to her so that she gives birth to us to Wisdom. She embellishes everything with her presence, draws the Spirit within us, to receive her Son and her salvation, we abandon ourselves to her maternal tenderness. Through the intercession of Louis and Zélie Martin, we pray for his intentions and for the intentions of our Holy Father.
