Angel of God, who you are responsible for my conduct, from the first moment of my birth until the moment of my death, I greet and honor you as my protector and my guide. I thank you for all the charitable care I have received from you; I firmly propose to honor you all my life, by following your advice more faithfully from now on and by obeying all the commandments that God will give me through your ministry.
I implore you, O my very faithful guardian, to continue your protection to me, to deliver me from the traps of satan my enemy, and to enlighten my mind when he runs the risk of going astray. Mercy comes from the Latin misereri which means to have mercy and cor (heart).
Mercy is the deep attitude of the being characterised by the loving disposition to forgive. Sensitivity to the misery and suffering of others and a fundamental benevolence towards one's neighbour. This is one of the attributes of God that explains his entire plan for the salvation of humanity.
God's goodness is infinite because it is one aspect of his mercy (Ps 86:5).
