Mantras
Un mantra (sanskrit ; devanāgarī : मन्त्र ; « délibération, maxime ; hymne sacré, formule mystique, incantation magique ») est, dans l'hindouisme, le bouddhisme, le sikhisme et le jaïnisme, une formule condensée, formée d'une seule syllabe ou d'une série de syllabes, répétée sans cesse avec un certain rythme, dans un exercice de méditation ou à des fins religieuses.
Le plus important c’est le son émis et non sa signification, quand on récite un mantra, on génére une vibration, c’est cette dernière qui possède un pouvoir. Le mantra est généralement utilisé pour la méditation, il agit sur le mental, le physique, l’émotionnel et le spirituel. Quand notre mental est présent dans la méditation, il bloque le processus, le fait de réciter un mantra pendant un certains temps, permet de se détourner du mental et ainsi profiter de la méditation.
Dans le Tantra, on compare ces sons aux divinités, ce sont des identités conscientes et vivantes.
Le mantra OM :
Le mantra le plus connu est le mantra OM (ou en encore AUM), c’est un son universel, on le considère comme le son primordial, il contient la vibration de l’univers, il symbolise dieu, il est utilisé comme préfixe et parfois suffixe aux mantras.
Le Mantra : OM MANI PADME HUM
Bien connu des tibétains et même au dela, ce mantra est puissant et il représente la compassion et la grâce de tous les bodhisattvas et bouddhas. Il a la capacité de purifier notre esprit, de l’ouvrir à l’ Amour et à la Compassion.
Le GAYATRI mantra :
Ce mantra a d’immenses pouvoirs, il apporte la sagesse, purifie le karma négatif , peut aider à l’illumination
Une expérience intéressante à faire est d’associer un mantra avec un mandala* ce qui a pour but d’augmenter la puissance de la méditation. De cette manière on se concentre sur l’image et le son et on évite le bavardage mental.
*Un mandala est une image sacré au même tire que le mantra est un son sacré.
On peut ouvrir ses chakras par le chant d’ un mantra, par exemple on utilise le mantra om pour le chakra ajna (troisième oeil)
Note : Ne pas confondre mantra et sutra, les sutras peuvent être chantés mais ce sont des textes attribués à Bouddha.
