If we recite this psalm often and early, we will be respected by kings and princes and we will receive favors from them.

Psalm 78

78.1 Song of Asaph. My people, listen to my instructions! Listen to the words of my mouth! 78.2 I open my mouth with judgments, I proclaim the wisdom of ancient times. 78.3 What we have heard, what we know, What our fathers told us, 78.4 We will not hide it from their children; We will speak to the next generation of the praises of the Lord, and of his power, and of the wonders that he has done. 78.5 He established a testimony in Jacob, He set a law in Israel, And he commanded our fathers to teach it to their children, 78.6 That it might be known to the future generation, to children to be born, and that when they grew up they would tell their children about it, 78.7 So that they might put their trust in God, That they might not forget the works of God, And keep his commandments, 78.8 That they might not be not, like their fathers, A rebellious and rebellious race, A race whose heart was not steadfast, And whose spirit was not faithful to God. 78.9 The sons of Ephraim, armed and bowing, turned their backs in the day of battle. 78.10 They did not keep the covenant of God,

And they refused to walk according to his law. 78.11 They forgot his works, his wonders which he had shown them. 78.12 He had done wonders before their fathers in the land of Egypt, in the fields of Zoan. 78.13 He divided the sea and opened a way for them; he made the waters to stand up like a wall. 78.14 By day he led them with a cloud, and all night long with a blazing fire. 78.15 He split rocks in the wilderness, and gave to drink like great waves; 78.16 From the rock he caused springs to gush, and waters to flow like rivers. 78.17 But they continued to sin against him, to rebel against the Most High in the wilderness. 78.18 They tempted God in their hearts, asking for food according to their desire. 78.19 They spoke against God, saying, Can God set up a table in the wilderness? 78.20 Behold, he smote the rock, and waters flowed out, and torrential torrents were poured out; Can he also give bread, Or provide meat for his people? 78.21 The LORD heard, and was wroth; Fire was kindled against Jacob, and anger arose against Israel, 78.22 Because they did not believe in God, Because they did not trust in his help. 78.23 He commanded the clouds above, and opened the gates of heaven; 78.24 He rained on them manna for food, and gave them the corn of heaven. 78.25 They all ate the bread of the great; he sent them food to their fullness. 78.26 He caused the east wind to blow in the heavens, and by his power he brought in the south wind; 78.27 He rained meat on them like dust, and winged birds like the sand of the sea; 78.28 He caused them to fall in the midst of their camp, all around their dwellings. 78.29 They ate and were satisfied abundantly; God gave them what they desired. 78.30 They had not satisfied their desire, They still had their food in their mouths, 78.31 When the anger of God arose against them; He smote the strongest with death, He struck down the young men of Israel. 78.32 Despite all this they continued to sin, and did not believe in his wonders. 78.33 He consumed their days with vanity, and their years with a sudden end. 78.34 When he smote them with death, they sought him; they returned and turned to God; 78.35 They remembered that God was their rock, that the Most High God was their deliverer. 78.36 But they deceived him with their mouths, and lied to him with their tongues; 78.37 Their heart was not steadfast with him, neither were they faithful to his covenant. 78.38 However, in his mercy he forgives iniquity, and does not destroy; He often holds back his anger and does not indulge in all his fury. 78.39 He remembered that they were only flesh, A breath that goes away and does not return. 78.40 How often they rebelled against him in the wilderness! How often they irritated him in solitude! 78.41 And they tempted God, and provoked the Holy One of Israel. 78.42 They remembered not his strength, nor the day that he delivered them out of the hand of the enemy. 78.43 And his wonders in Egypt, and his wonders in the field of Zoan. 78.44 He turned their rivers into blood, and they could not drink of their waters. 78.45 He sent divers sorts of flies among them, which devoured them; and frogs destroyed them. 78.46 He gave their crops to the locusts, The fruit of their labor to the locusts. 78.47 He smote their vines with hail, and their sycomores with frost. 78.48 He gave up their cattle also to the hail, and their flocks to the heavens. 78.49 He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending evil angels among them. 78.50 He hath given free rein to his wrath: he hath not saved their soul from death, he hath given their life to death; 78.51 And he smote all the firstborn in Egypt; the chief of their strength in the tabernacles of Ham. 78.52 He led his people away as sheep, he led them as a flock in the wilderness. 78.53 He led them on safely, so that they would not be afraid, and the sea covered their enemies. 78.54 He brought them to his holy border, to the mountain which his right hand had acquired. 78.55 And he drove out the nations before them, and divided the land before them, and caused the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents. 78.56 But they tempted God Most High, and rebelled against him. And they did not keep his commandments. 78.57 They turned back, and were unfaithful, like their fathers, they were turned about like a deceitful bow. 78.58 They provoked him to jealousy with their high places, and moved their jealousy with their graven images. 78.59 And God heard, and was wroth; He pushed Israel hard. 78.60 And he forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh, the tent which he placed among men; 78.61 He delivered his glory into captivity, and his majesty into the hand of the enemy. 78.62 He put his people to the sword, and was angry with his inheritance. 78.63 The fire devoured his young men, and his virgins were not celebrated; 78.64 His priests fell by the sword, and his widows did not weep. 78.65 The LORD awaked as one out of sleep, and like a mighty man that winketh with wine. 78.66 He hath smitten his adversaries, he hath covered them with everlasting reproach. 78.67 But he rejected the tabernacle of Joseph, and chose not the tribe of Ephraim; 78.68 He loved the tribe of Judah, the mountain of Zion which he loved. 78.69 And he buildeth his sanctuary like high places, like the earth which he hath founded for ever. 78.70 And David chose his servant, and took him out of the sheepfolds; 78.71 And he took him from the sheep that were nursing him, to feed Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance. 78.72 And David guided them with a perfect heart, and guided them in understanding.
