Here I am, O good and holy Jesus, prostrate before you. I beg and beseech you, with all the ardour of my soul, to deign to imprint in my heart strong sentiments of faith, hope and charity, a true repentance of my faults and a very firm will to correct them; while with great love and sorrow I consider and contemplate in my spirit your five wounds, having before my eyes those words which the prophet David already applied to you when he put them in your mouth.
O good Jesus: They have pierced my hands and feet, they have counted all my bones. Pius VII, renewing a concession already made by Clement VIII and Benedict XIV, granted a plenary indulgence to those who, truly contrite, having confessed and received Holy Communion, will say the preceding prayer with piety before the image of Jesus crucified, and pray for the needs of the Church.
