Prayer for the good of the Holy Church

O Lord and God of virtues!
turn to us,
please, your merciful face,
and save us.
"You brought your vineyard from Egypt:
you uprooted the good guys,
and you planted it ... the earth. "(Ps. LXXIX, 9-10)
You expelled idolatry
from above the earth and you planted the vine there
of your holy Church.

And you planted it so well,
that all parts of the world
once embraced the Faith she taught,
so that everywhere
we worshiped the cross of Jesus Christ,
and that the prediction that your holy faith
would fill the earth is fulfilled. -
"The wild boar of the forest
completely devastated it,
and a lone beast devoured it. "(Ps. ibid., 14.)
But then heresy;
ferocious beast from the woods of hell,
devastated her;
and the devastation increasing in the past centuries,
we no longer see now
the Faith that in some kingdoms of Europe,
while everywhere else
infidelity or heresy reigns.
But what's even worse,
what the Church deplores with the most bitterness,
is that we see the unbelievers
persecute the Faith in some states,
where this Faith was in all its primitive purity. -
"God of virtues,
take a look at us:
look down from the sky,
and see, and visit this vineyard. "(Ps. ibid. 15.)
Turn to us with grace,
and see from the heavens
how pitiful is your vineyard.
See her, visit her and heal her
of the ailments she received,
and which she always receives through her enemies,
who despise and mock your Church,
your scriptures, your precepts, your maxims,
finally all your holy truths.
"Make it prosper,
the one your right has planted:
and look on the Son of man
which you have established for yourself. "(Ps. Ibid. 16.)
Remember it was planted with your hands.
Remember, O Eternal Father!
that your beloved Son,
to obey you,
and train this vine according to your will,
became Son of man,
and planted it at the cost of his blood
and suffering throughout his life.
We therefore ask you to answer us:
for the love of your Son Jesus,
deign to lead and keep
your holy Church,
deign to humiliate his enemies.
And you, Incarnate Word,
O Savior of the world,
who by your death
have brought salvation to men,
how can you see,
with these very men,
so much ingratitude,
that not only do they refuse
to obey and love you,
but that they even deny death
and the sufferings
that you endured for them?
You always think only of their happiness,
and them, the ungrateful!
say you don't care at all!
You created them immortal,
in order to make them happy for all eternity,
and they try to persuade themselves
that they are mortal
to surrender without restraint to all vices,
and thus make oneself unhappy
for all eternity.
Alas! by the merits of your life
and your death,
help your servants;
and do not allow ungodliness
of your enemies triumph
of the loss of so many souls
which you redeemed with your blood.
"The rod of your power,
the Lord will bring her out of Zion:
rule in the midst of your enemies. "(Ps. CIX, 2.)
We also turn our eyes to you,
O Mary, Queen of Heaven;
you who love the Church of God the most,
because you are the creature who love Him
more than all the others.
Deliver it, we beg you,
of the dangers you see her
exposed by her very children,
who have become his most bitter enemies.
Your prayers,
because they are mother's prayers,
get everything you ask of this Son,
who cherishes you infinitely.
Pray then!
pray for this Church of your Son;
get the light from the sky
for unbelievers who persecute her,
and strength for the faithful,
so that they do not let themselves be seduced
by the traps that are set for them,
and so that they are not dragged
with them in eternal ruin.
