We renew more frequently
the sprinkling of holy water.
If he lost consciousness,
we just pray
and to make people pray for him with more ardor;
if not, we suggest to him with more force,
fervent acts,

Losing a loved one is often a daunting ordeal.
If we consider death as the end of biological life, it is also a passage to the fullness of real life. Praying for a deceased person is asking that he or she may experience this passage of heavenly joy. Remember these words from Sacred Scripture: "It is a holy and wholesome thought to pray for the dead, that they may be delivered from their sins" (2M 12:46).
