Saint Heribert is invoked to obtain rain during great droughts.
Saint Heribert was archbishop of Cologne at the beginning of the 11th century. During a torrid summer, not a single drop of rain fell. Harvests were meagre, fire broke out everywhere, grass did not grow in the pastures and the springs dried up. In a word, the famine was threatening. The people came to Saint Heribert so that he could obtain from Heaven the cessation of this catastrophic drought. Saint Heribert went to the foot of the altar and, moved by the misfortune that struck the people, shed abundant tears and prayed to God. Immediately the rain began to fall.
INVOCATION:
Lord our God, pour out your blessing on your people, water abundantly this land which you have created and which owes you all its fruitfulness. Renew in our favor the blessing you once granted to the tears of Saint Heribert, and help us, as you have helped his afflicted people. We pray to you through Our Lord Jesus Christ. So be it. Saint Heribert, so powerful to help us in times of great drought. pray for us to get the rain that the earth needs.
