Prayer composed by Pope Leo XIII and strongly recommended by John Paul II on April 24, 1994 in St. Peter's Square in Rome.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in the battle; be our help against the malice and snares of the devil. May God exert his power upon him, and may he give us the strength to bear witness to our faith, we beg you. And you, prince of the militia of Heaven, armed with the power of God, drive Satan and the other evil spirits who prowl in the world to lose souls back into hell.

Amen Saint Michael, Inspire us with your zeal in the service of the glory of God. Obtain for us to be faithful to Christ who gave us his peace and his love, so that in our time God's gestures for us, for France and for Europe may be renewed. Amen.
