Saints
Saint Amaranthus suffered a horrible martyrdom for the holy name of Jesus which he vigorously refused to deny. They tore off his flesh with iron nails, but an angel came to heal him in his dungeon; they threw him into a fiery furnace, but the flames burst away from him. So they thought they'd come to the end by locking him in a room with vipers and scorpions, but they respected him. Finally, his head had to be cut off.
Saint Amaranthus is pleased to hear those who pray to him for the healing of a descent of the stomach.
INVOCATION
Deign, O my God, to receive favorably the homage with which I lovingly surround the glorious tombs of your saints and their precious relics; grant that after having loved all my life with a love full of tenderness and confidence those whom you fill with glory and enjoyment, I may praise you with them for all eternity. By N.-S. AD So be it.
Saint Amaranthus, who are so helpful to all who call on you, pray for us.
PRAYER
Do not allow, my God, that I ever become unfaithful to you. Let me know more every day the admirable testimonies of your love for me, so that mine may draw new strength from them. I now want to be only yours and love only you. So be it.
