Prayer for the renewal of the baptismal promises

My God, prostrate before you, I come today to renew the promises that a few years ago you made to me as my godfather and godmother. I pledge to continue to carry out all that has been promised in my name by those who answered for me.

I renounce Satan who is the enemy of God and the Catholic Church.
I renounce all his works which are the actions of sin.
I renounce all the vanities of the devil, all the lures of the world and all dangerous and vicious pleasures.
I believe in God the Father Almighty Creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, Our Lord, who was born and suffered.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the remission of sins, the resurrection of the flesh and eternal life.
I cling to Jesus Christ to follow him in a holy way by applying myself more carefully to the study of the Gospels.
Eternal Father, who adopted me in Jesus Christ for one of your children, and called me to your inheritance, raise up in me the grace of divine adoption, that I may live only for your glory, that I may work only for the other life, and that faith and love of unseen possessions may be renewed in me day by day.
Jesus, the only Son of the Father, who received me into your Mystical Body, washed in your Blood and sanctified by your mysteries, may I never stray from the right path, and deliver me from all evil, so that I may practise charity, humility and all other virtues that will make me worthy of you. So be it.

Then recite the Creed, the Our Father and the Hail Mary.
