Desperate Causes difficult causes
Lord you want that
am I carrying this cross?
I accept it and will wear it
as long as you want.
How sweet he is,
O my dear Redeemer,
to suffer to please you.
Oh! that we would be dear to you
suffering without complaining,
out of love for you!
O ineffable grace!
O the first of graces,
to be able to suffer while loving you
and to love you while suffering!
My Jesus,
only you could teach us
these salutary maxims,
so contrary to the maxims of the world.
Only you can give us the strength
to carry our cross with patience.
I'm not asking you to exempt me from pain,
i only ask you
to give me the strength to suffer
with patience and resignation.
Eternal Father,
your divine Son has promised us that everything
what we will ask you on his behalf,
you would give it to us.
"Truly, truly,
if you ask for something
to my Father in my name,
He will give it to you. "[Jn. 16:13]
So grant us grace
to endure with patience
the pains of this life;
answer our prayers
for the love of Jesus Christ.
And you, O my Jesus!
forgive me all the trespasses
that I made you,
by refusing to suffer with patience
the tribulations you send me.
Give me your love;
he will give me the strength to suffer
all for the love of you;
deprive me of everything;
take away all that I have,
my parents, my friends,
my bodily health,
take my life,
but do not deprive me of your love;
I'm not asking for anything more.
Holy Virgin,
