INVOCATION
Blessed Virgin, Mother of my God, my Mother and my Patroness, I place myself under your protection and I throw myself confidently into the bosom of your mercy.
Give me gentleness and patience and make my submission and obedience soften towards me the feelings of the bridegroom that Heaven has given me.
O Sovereign, O Mother, remember that I belong to you, and defend me as your property and yours. So be it.
ORAISON
It is you, O my God, who gave me this bridegroom, whom I cherish and whom you allow me to love. But since you are a jealous God, you want to be the first object of my love and to hold the first place in this heart that you have formed; grant me, therefore, O my Savior, to give you this first place that I owe you in so many ways; make this being to whom you have bound me, not prevail over you in my heart, let him hold only the second place: but also that, after divine love, conjugal love should fill me completely, that nothing should ever divert me from it, and that I should constantly fulfil the duties you have imposed on me towards the one you have given me as my spouse. May the happiness of pleasing you be found only in the knots that unite us, and may we mutually exalt ourselves to love you, to serve you, and to consecrate to you all the moments of our lives. Deign, Lord, to prolong the life of my husband, to save him from the dangers to which his profession exposes him, and to make him feel, as I do, that the principal and only matter that a Christian must take care of is that of his salvation, for which I ask your graces, recognizing that without you we can do nothing. So be it.
