Saints
Saint Gatianus is the protector and comforter of all the afflicted who invoke him with confidence, because he is never prayed in vain.
It is especially invoked to find lost or stolen household items.
Saint Gatianus was the first bishop of Tours and, when he arrived in Touraine, he found an entirely pagan country. In this country he had a lot to do. His virtues, supported by his fasts and macerations, won him many souls; but the pagan priests who sought his destruction forced him to hide in order to celebrate the holy mysteries.
His immense love for the poor made him build a hospital for them; It was in this hospital, where he came one day to rest his fatigue, that God appeared to him, announced to him his imminent end and his reserved place in Heaven. He surrendered his soul to God a few days later, on December 18, 116, after having worked 50 years in Touraine to the glory of his God.
INVOCATION
God of all goodness and love, who gave us in Saint Gatianus such a powerful and generous protector, grant us to have in him the most complete confidence and the most sincere love; may he be our help and our consolation in our sorrows and embarrassments of this life; may he assist us in all circumstances, so that one day, with him, we may bless and love you eternally. So be it.
Saint Gatianus, whom we invoke effectively in all circumstances, and particularly to find lost or stolen domestic things, pray for us.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God! place your passion, your cross and your death between your righteousness and my soul, now and the hour of my death. Give me mercy and mercy: give forgiveness to the living, and rest to the dead; peace to your Church, and to all sinners life and everlasting glory. So be it.
