for deceased to God for the dying Spirituality eternal life
O Mary, what will be my death?
From now on,
when I consider my sins,
when I think of that solemn moment
that will make me forever
saved or damned,
the moment of my last breath
and the judgment of God,
I tremble and am confounded.
O my Mother,
my sweetest Mother,
all my hope is
in the blood of Jesus Christ
and in your intercession.
Consoler of the afflicted
do not abandon me,
do not fail to assist me
in this extreme affliction.
Already today everything is tormenting me
the remorse of my sins
the uncertainty of forgiveness
the dangers of relapse,
the rigour of divine justice.
What will become of me then?
If you do not help me
I am lost.
Ah, my Sovereign,
before death strikes me,
obtain for me a lively sorrow for my sins,
a true amendment
and faithfulness to God until the end of my life.
And when I come to the end of my life
of my life,
O Mary, my hope,
help me in the terrible anguish
which I must undergo;
give me the strength not to despair
not to despair over my faults
of which the devil will present me with a vivid picture.
Obtain for me to invoke you more often,
so that I may die with your sweetest name
your most sweet name
and that of your adorable Son.
And even forgive me,
august Queen,
my boldness:
before I die,
come yourself to console me
by your presence.
This favour
you have granted it well
to so many of your devoted servants:
I want it too,
and I hope so.
A sinner, it is true,
I do not deserve it.
But I am devoted to you too;
oh! I love you
and I have great confidence in you.
O Mary, I am waiting for you:
may I not be disappointed in my expectation!
At the very least,
if I were not worthy
of so great a grace,
assist me from heaven
so that I may leave this world
loving God and loving you
so that I may love you
eternally in heaven.

Losing a loved one is often a daunting ordeal.
If we consider death as the end of biological life, it is also a passage to the fullness of real life. Praying for a deceased person is asking that he or she may experience this passage of heavenly joy. Remember these words from Sacred Scripture: "It is a holy and wholesome thought to pray for the dead, that they may be delivered from their sins" (2M 12:46).

To God, the being above all, nothing is impossible. Everything is possible with him. Whatever difficulties you find yourself in, trust in him, have faith. Pray to him and he will answer you.
Prayers addressed directly to God do not go through any intermediary. He receives them as they are. Some people prefer this type of prayer where they speak, in their hearts, directly to God.
God is present everywhere. Within us and without us. Even when we think we are alone, he is there. He sees us, he listens to us. He knows us better than we know ourselves.
Like a good father with his children, he is compassionate, merciful and always ready to forgive us our failings and sins.
Let us entrust ourselves to him, ask him for the grace to be a reflection of his love for mankind. Let us entrust ourselves to him and be attentive to the different signs and messages that he sends us every day, within us or outside us through our fellow human beings.
