Saints
O Saint John the Baptist,
illustrious Precursor of the Messiah,
you that the Savior proclaimed
the greatest among the children of men,
and that Our Holy Father Pope Pius X
gave for special boss
to French Canadians;
you have wonderfully prepared,
by your austere life,
penitent and all angelic,
the ways to the reign of the redeeming lamb.
We beg you,
deign to obtain grace for us
to walk in your glorious footsteps
keep the faith of our fathers,
to zealously defend the interests
of the Holy Catholic Church,
and to carry out the designs
of divine Providence on each of us,
so that after the exile of this life,
we can meet again
in the heavenly homeland,
to change the praises
of the Eternal King of all peoples,
for centuries and centuries.
So be it.
