angelsThe primary function of the Holy Angels is the praise of God. And since they are always at our side, may they give us strength and courage. We must strive to live always in their company.
Holy Angel, who is my guardian, my tutor and my teacher, my guide and my defence, my very wise counsellor and my very faithful friend, it is to you that the goodness of the Lord has been commended to me from the day I was born until the last hour of my life. What respect I owe you, when I know that you are always and everywhere by my side.
How grateful I am to thank you for the love you have for me, how boundlessly confident I am in knowing that you are my helper and defender! Holy Angel, teach me, correct me, guard me and lead me on the straight and sure path to the Holy City of God.
Do not allow me to do anything that offends your holiness and purity. Present my desires to the Lord, offer Him my prayers, show Him my miseries and let me know of His infinite goodness, through the maternal intercession of your Queen, Mary Most Holy, how to heal me.
Watch over me when I am resting, support me when I am tired, shoulder me when I am about to fall. Lift me up when I have fallen, show me the way when I am lost, give me courage when I am lost, enlighten me when I cannot see, defend me when I am under attack. Especially on the last day of my life. Be a shield against the demon. Thanks to your defence and your conduct, obtain for me to enter at last into your radiant dwelling place, where for all eternity I will be able to express my gratitude to you and glorify with you the Lord God and the Virgin Mary, my Sovereign and yours. So be it.
