O strong God,
at the first light of day,
as soon as I wake, come to me,
dwell with me,
rule my thoughts,
my words and my deeds.
Be the guardian of my whole body
of all my senses.
Be the guardian of my hands,
may they be pure
and reach up to you.
Be the guardian of my feet
may they not wander here and there
in idleness.
All day long
in work or prayer,
be the guardian of my lips.
