INVOCATION:
May our mouths, souls and lives be occupied in praising you, Lord, and as perfect health is a gift from your liberality, grant us this precious gift through the merits of Saint Valentine. May this holy priest and martyr especially pray for those who must be united by the bonds of marriage, so that, loving one another with mutual and inviolable love, they may be agreeable to you by the holiness of their life. . So be it.
Saint Valentine, pray for us, so that we may be preserved and delivered from the evils from which we suffer.
PRAYER:
O my Savior Jesus crucified, King of eternal glory; this is what you did for me. I was condemned to hell: your compassionate heart took pity on me; you came down from heaven into the dark dungeon of this world; you took the form of the guilty man; you became a prisoner in my place, and you were condemned and delivered to the death of the cross.
How could I not pay, with the most ardent love, such blessings and such sufferings? Ah! how ardent he was, the love which made you suffer so much for me! O my Jesus! O my salvation, your love for us, your infinite mercy, this is what made you take upon yourself the burden of our crimes! He would really be harder than marble, a heart that would not feel inflamed with an unalterable love for you, after having received so much love from you! Ah! why can't I love you as you deserve to be! So be it.
