Prayer to Saint Alphonse

O Saint Alphonsus,
my glorious and beloved protector,
you who have worked so hard
and suffered so much to assure men
the fruit of redemption,
consider the needs of my poor soul
and have mercy on me.
Through the powerful intercession with which
you enjoy with Jesus and Mary,
get me real contrition
and forgiveness of my past faults,
a great horror of sin
and the strength to always resist temptations.

Communicate to me,
I beg you,
a spark of this ardent charity
whose heart was always on fire
and do that according to your example
I take the good divine pleasure
like the only rule of my life.
Get me fiery love
and persevering for Jesus,
a tender and filial devotion to Mary,
the grace to pray always
and to persevere until my death
in the service of God,
so that I deserve to be united to you in heaven,
to praise god
and the most holy Virgin Mary,
for all eternity.

So be it.
