The Seven Branch Prayer
It is a prayer traditionally included in liturgies.

The seven branches are:
1) the homage
2) the offering
3) confession of non-verbal acts
4) joy for the good done by others
5) the request of the teachings
6) the supplication to the Buddhas to remain present in this world
7) the dedication of virtuous acts for the good of beings.

Each branch aims to neutralize a poison of the spirit. Respectively:
1) pride
2) avarice
3) aggressiveness - aversion
4) jealousy and the spirit of competition
5) Ignorance - stupidity
6) the idea of permanence
7) egocentricity

The dedication also leads to the achievement of perfect Enlightenment. An example of the liturgy for this form of practice is given below. The name of a particular Buddha, deity or other object of worship may be substituted for the name Avalokiteshvara:

"With unreserved faith I pay homage to Avalokiteshvara, To all the conquerors and their sons, Who reside in the ten directions and the three times. I offer in reality and in imagination Flowers, incense, lights, perfumes, Food, music, and many other objects. I beg the holy assembly to accept these offerings. I confess all the negative acts that I have committed under the influence of disturbing emotions And the ten non-virtuous acts, the five most serious and the others Committed from times without beginning until now. I rejoice in the merit Of all the virtues that the Shravakas, Pratyékabouddhas, Bodhisattvas and ordinary beings Accumulate through the three times. I pray for the turning of the Dharma Wheel of ordinary vehicles,

higher and lower Corresponding to the many degrees of ability That underlie the motivations of all beings. I beg the Buddhas not to pass beyond suffering But, until the cycle of existences is not completely empty, To watch with great compassion over all beings Immersed in the ocean of misery and sorrow. May everything deserves by me gathered together Become a seed for the enlightenment of all beings. Without delay, may I become a splendid guide for the beings".
