SaintsThese three saints, Saint Salvi or Saulve, Saint Savin, Saint Symphorian, are invoked against the falls. These three Saints: Saint Salvi or Saulve, Saint Savin and Saint Symphorian, raised together in Christian virtue, suffered together the martyrdom that crowned their refusal to honour the false gods.
INVOCATION:
The way of the mighty God is perfect, the word of the Lord is purified by fire; he is a shield to all who retreat to him. For who is a strong God if not the Lord? And who is a rock, if not our God? The strong God, who is my strength, is the true strength, and he has leveled my path perfectly. He made my feet like the feet of hinds, and he made me stand on high places. He is the one who holds up my hands in battle so much that my arms have broken a brass bow. You have also given me the shield of your salvation, and your kindness has made me great. You widened the path under my feet, and my feet did not slip.
Saints Salvi Savin and Symphorian. Protect me; pray for me.
PRAYER:
Let us, therefore, the children of your holy Church understand ever more clearly by what an inestimable price we have been redeemed, and how you have justified us without any merit on our part. So, if we have to endure some temptation or any other persecution because of you, we will take refuge in the shadow of your almighty protection, and leaning on your prayer, as on a stick, we will walk confidently; and we will not fear anything, if you communicate to us your submission to God, who is our true and unique strength. So be it.
