Saints
Saint Christian is especially invoked for the happy deliverance of women in childbirth and to obtain healing from puerperal fevers.
This holy priest who served, in Douai, the parish of Saint-Albin, was known to all the poor and hardworking people. No one knocked on his door in vain, and his tireless charity distributed soul bread and body food day and night to all who came to him.
He is celebrated on April 7 and the miracles that took place at his tomb were numerous.
INVOCATION
O God, who are the greatness and the glory of the humble and who have raised up the blessed Christian, your servant, to the glory of the saints: do, please, only through the intercession of his merits and the virtue of your Holy Gospels which we receive with piety, we are delivered from all our sufferings and all our infirmities. We pray to you through Our Lord Jesus Christ. So be it.
Blessed Saint Christian of Douai, who will obtain health for the sick and a happy deliverance for pregnant women, pray for us, we ask you with confidence.
PRAYER
Help me then, O my God! By accepting my whole being as your property, let me abandon you at this time. Let’s make an exchange, O my Jesus! Take my miserable being in your hands, to plunge it into the ocean of your love; and give me, in return, your holy and divine charity, which extinguishes in me all other love, which completely annihilates me in myself, so that I can only be in you. And then with vigilance and continual prayer, I will no longer succumb to any temptation. So be it.
