Saints
Saint Cénéric, the Blessed (brother of Saint Cénéré) is invoked on behalf of the feverish, by vows and pilgrimages. Saint Cénéric is also invoked more particularly against foot-and-mouth disease, against war and against the suffering of hunger.
The relics of Saint Cénéric rest in the church of Sées.
INVOCATION
Deign, Lord, to grant to the prayers of our holy intercessor all the favors which we ask with confidence of your mercy. Fill us with holy joy which will cause us to bless your mercy and the power of your saint ceaselessly with your Majesty. We pray to you through Our Lord Jesus Christ. So be it.
Saint Ceneric, hope of the sick and of those who suffer excessively, pray for us and relieve us effectively.
PRAYER
I greet you with love, august face of my Savior Jesus, purer than the best purified gold, very clear mirror of the Holy Trinity, you whom spitting and blows have so disfigured and covered with blood, that you have lost all your beauty. So be it.
