The Rain of Elixir of Blessings A Prayer to the Great Guru and his wise wives

Think of us and strike as fast as lightning!

རྡོ་རྗེ་དྲག་པོ་རྩལ་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

Dorje Drakpo Tsel, we pray to you:

བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས་ཤིག་ཨོ་རྒྱན་རིན་པོ་ཆེ། །

Inspire us with your blessings, Orgyen Rinpoche!

དངོས་གྲུབ་སྩོལ་ཅིག་ཡེ་ཤེས་དྷཱ་ཀི་མཁྱེན། །

Grant us the siddhi, take care of us, dâkinî of wisdom!

ཡིད་བཞིན་ནོར་ལྟར་དགོས་འདོད་ཀུན་འབྱུང་ཞིང༌། །

Like a wish-fulfilling jewel, you fulfil all our needs and wishes,

དྲན་པ་ཙམ་གྱིས་སྲིད་ཞིའི་གདུང་བ་སེལ། །

One thought of you and the suffering of samsâra and nirvâna disappears,

བླ་མ་བདེ་བ་ཆེན་པོར་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

Guru of great bliss, we pray to you:

བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས་ཤིག་ཨོ་རྒྱན་རིན་པོ་ཆེ། །

Inspire us with your blessings, Orgyen Rinpoche!

དངོས་གྲུབ་སྩོལ་ཅིག་ཡེ་ཤེས་དྷཱ་ཀི་མཁྱེན། །

Grant us the siddhi, take care of us, dâkinî of wisdom!

བདག་སོགས་ཁྱེད་ཀྱི་རྗེས་འཇུག་བུ་རྣམས་ལ། །

To us, your disciples, your daughters and sons,

མཁྱེན་བརྩེ་ནུས་པའི་རྩལ་ཤུགས་རབ་བསྐྱེད་དེ། །

Direct all the power of your knowledge, love and strength!

བྱིན་རླབས་དབང་ཆེན་ད་ལྟ་ཉིད་དུ་བསྐུར། །

Grant us instantly the great power transmission of your blessings!

མཆོག་ཐུན་དངོས་གྲུབ་སྟན་ཐོག་འདི་རུ་སྩོལ། །

Here and now, grant us the ordinary and supreme siddhi!

ཚེ་རབས་ཀུན་ཏུ་པད་འབྱུང་ཡབ་ཡུམ་གྱིས། །

And in all our lives to come, Padmakâra, with your wives of wisdom,

ཐུགས་ཀྱི་སྲས་སུ་ཉེ་བར་བཟུང་ནས་ཀྱང༌། །

Keep us close to your heart, we the children of your wisdom mind,

གསང་བ་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་མཛོད་ལ་དབང་བསྒྱུར་ཞིང༌། །

Convey to us the power of the treasure of an ocean of secrets,

གུ་རུ་ཡབ་ཡུམ་ཐུགས་དགོངས་རྫོགས་པ་ཡི། །

May we master the splendour of the four enlightened activities

ཕྲིན་ལས་རྣམ་བཞིའི་དཔལ་ལ་དབང་འབྱོར་ཤོག །

That we may fulfil your vision and wishes, Guru yabyum!

དེ་ལྟར་གསོལ་བཏབ་སྨོན་པ་བཞིན་དུ་འགྲུབ། །

With this prayer, may all that we desire come true :

རྒྱལ་བསྟན་དར་ཞིང་འཇིག་རྟེན་བདེ་དགས་འབྱོར། །

May the teachings of the Buddha flourish, may this world be rich with peace and happiness,

བསྟན་ལ་གནོད་རྣམས་རིང་དུ་བསྐྲད་བྱས་ཏེ། །

And all forces harmful to the teachings be cast away;

དགེ་འདུན་སྡེ་འཕེལ་ཐུགས་མཐུན་ཁྲིམས་གཙང་གི །

May everything be favourable for the Sangha to grow in numbers and harmony, with pure discipline,

ཐུབ་བསྟན་ཕྱོགས་བཅུར་རྒྱས་པའི་བཀྲ་ཤིས་ཤོག །

And may the Buddha's teachings spread in all ten directions!

ཅེས་པའང་བསྟན་སྦྱིན་ཆེན་པོ་ལ་དཀར་བསོད་ནམས་རྒྱལ་མཚན་དང༌། དགེ་འགྱུར་གྲགས་ཟུང་ནས་ལྷ་རྫས་རིན་གཉིས་འཁོར་ལོའི་རྟེན་བཅས་བསྐུལ་ངོར་འཇམ་དབྱངས་བློ་གྲོས་རྒྱ་མཚོས་སྒྲུབ་མཚོ་པདྨ་གླིང་དུ་སྤྲེལ་ལོ་སྤྲེལ་ཟླའི་ཚེས་ཉེར་གཅིག་ལ་བྲིས་པ་དགེའོ།། །།

When Sönam Gyaltsen (Sogyal Rinpoche), of the Lakar family, great benefactors of the buddhadharma, and his guardian Lama Gyurdrak, offered silver coins and a white scarf and made the request for this prayer, Jamyang Lodrö Gyatso (Jamyang Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö) wrote it in Drub Tso Pema Ling on the 21st day of the month of the monkey in the year of the monkey (1956). May virtue abound!
