Eternal God, we thank you for the great love with which you love us. Thank you for the success of our endeavors and for our daily bread. Grant us the virtues we lack to be true instruments of your love in our lives and workplaces.
Lord Jesus, it is because of our sins that you suffered your passion and then your death on a cross. Through your resurrection, you invite us to turn away from evil, to dry the tears of our suffering, our disappointments, our failures, our illnesses, and all the difficulties of our lives, so that we may place our hope and trust in you more fully.
Lord, you who make possible what seems impossible to humankind, grant us the courage and strength to seek you tirelessly like Mary Magdalene, even when everything seems to be going wrong, even when we feel as if the sky has fallen upon us, so that you may change our situation, that you may turn our tears into cries of joy. Alone, Lord, we can do nothing; open the ears of our hearts to hear your voice that calls us constantly, each by name, and grant that we may be transformed by your presence, and, like your servant Mary Magdalene, proclaim everywhere that you are risen and alive.
This night, Eternal One, visit the sick and grant them healing. This night, Lord, keep us under your protection and grant us sweet sleep, you, our protector for eternity. Amen.
