137.1
On the banks of the rivers of Babylon We sat and wept, remembering Zion.
137.2
In the willows of the country We had hung our harps.
137.3
There our overcomers asked us for songs, And our oppressors for joy: Sing to us some of the songs of Zion!
137.4
How would we sing the songs of the Lord In a foreign land?
137.5
If I forget you, Jerusalem, May my right hand forget me!
137.6
May my tongue cling to my palate, If I do not remember you, If I do not make Jerusalem The main subject of my joy!
137.7
O LORD, remember the children of Edom, who said in the day of Jerusalem, Shave, shave to its foundations.
137.8
Daughter of Babylon, the devastated one, Blessed is he who reciprocates you, The evil that you have done us!
137.9
Happy is he who seizes your children and crushes them on the rock!
