All prayers Warfare Prayers
Warfare is another aspect of prayer. Through it we wrestle, not “against flesh and blood, but ... against the spiritual wickedness that is in the heavenly places” (Eph. 6:12).
It is striking that in this sixth chapter of the epistle to the Ephesians the mention of prayer immediately follows the description of the full armor of God. We have a remarkable type of the warfare against the flesh in Israel’s warfare against Amalek (Ex. 17).
For us, we have in Christ an intercessor whose hands never grow weary, so that in Him it is always possible to gain the victory. As we approach the throne of grace for help in time of need, we can fight by prayer, both individually and corporately. Epaphras always fought for the Colossians by prayer (Col. 4:12). Paul exhorts the Romans to contend with him in their prayers (Rom. 15:30).
